Re-release of the 1959 classic. Renowned biblical epic of enormous scale about adult enmity between boyhood friends. Though somewhat dated, this character-driven, action-filled, star-studded extravaganza still delights fans of old-style, melodramatic Hollywood spectacles. Won eleven of the twelve Academy Awards for which it was nominated -- and deservedly so. More than just an almost-four hour long Roman spectacle of pomp and pageantry, BEN-HUR has become known as an "intimate epic" -- that is, a film that doesn't lose sight of its characters and their personal struggles amidst its large-scale production values and grandeur. It is a spectacle; it is entertainment; and therein lies the film's initial attraction. But the human drama of the characters, their struggle with each other and with themselves, makes BEN-HUR a picture worth more than the sum total of all its sets, costumes and special effects. It is a story of a man, and therein lies its eternal appeal.

Sudhir Mishra’s Calcutta Mail narrates the story of a man (Anil Kapoor) who leaves his hometown and comes to Calcutta searching for something special. He, however, realises that somebody is watching him and he doesn't know whom to trust. In comes Rima (Rani Mukherjee), but her identity is suspicious. Is she Rima or Bulbul, nothing about her conveys the truth. He then comes across a number of characters. One among them is Sujan Singh, a joker (Satish Kaushik), a devoted loving father but also a shrewd politician. Can he be trusted? And there's Ghatak (Saurabh Shukla) always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone friend and foe. Is he to be trusted? Inspector Rastogi played by Sayaji Shinde, a loyal worker who turns away from duty only once to do the biggest favour to the nation.
